Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov said yesterday that Russian Muslims should be able to take multiple wives – we’re assuming he was talking about the men. The women don’t seem to have much say.

Kadyrov’s reasoning: When men have multiple wives they’re less likely to cheat and prostitution decreases.

“That’s a tradition we’ve always had. God allows Muslims to do so,” Kadyrov, 33, said in an interview on Russian TV. “Is it better to have 20 lovers rather than four lawful wives?”

Ah, the age-old question….
