Seventies heartthrob: McKeown says he had his first gay experience at 19, at the height of the Rollers' fame

S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y night!

Are you old enough to remember the Bay City Rollers?

Tartan-clad lads from Scotland who had a couple big hits in the 1970s.

Girls squealed and screamed when they saw them.

Well, it’s taken 30 years but according to the Daily Mail, Les McKeown finally acknowledged he’s been leading a secret gay life.

His wife of 25 years, Peko, and their son, found out about it when he mentioned it on a TV documentary.

On hearing his confession, his wife said: “I’m glad you’ve told me because always I’d wondered.

“I’d guessed but I was not sure. This is my husband – my family. We are cool.”

“I’ve been a bit of a George Michael, meeting people, often strangers, for sex,” McKeown said.

“Not in public toilets  -  I’m not big on the unhygienic side of things. These days you’d meet online and figure out a place where to meet  -  your place or mine.”

McKeown claims he had his first gay experience at the height of the Rollers’ fame in the mid-70s, when he was given Quaaludes and date-raped by another man.
