As the U.S. has attempted to bring Democracy to Iraq, an unintended fallout has been bringing increased prostitution to Sharjah (a small Arab emirate next to wealtheir Dubai).

Gulfnews.com reports that an Iraqi woman is being questioned by authorities there after her daughters, aged 12 and 17, went to police to complain their mom was pimping them.

“Our mother rented a studio in a building in an area away from our home,” the 17-year-old girl told police.

“Our mother used to take me to this studio which is only one room and she used to bring men to have sex for money with me,” the girl told police.

A senior police official questioned a portion of the girls’ story: “I have doubts that those girls are this cruel woman’s biological daughters. It is impossible for a mother to do that with her own daughters.”

Unfotunately, no it’s not.

In a separate case, another Iraqi woman accused her Iraqi husband and his first wife for forcing her in to whoring in Sharjah.

“I am his second wife,” the woman said. “We got married and he brought me here. I thought it was a real marriage but after coming here I discovered that he and his first wife wanted to force me into prostitution.”
