Like a lot of hip, young teachers, 29-year-old Christine McCallum has a Facebook page (well, she may not by the time you read this.) That’s her coquettish picture up top.

Yesterday, however, the Abington (Massachusetts) school teacher pleaded not guilty to several charges of statutory rape. WBZ38 reports that investigators say she had sex with a teen boy more than 300 times over a three-year period.

Abington police chief David Majenski called her a “predator.”

She is accused of having “consensual” sex with the boy beginning three years ago.

He was 13 at the time.

The boy’s father went to authorities after finding some of Christine’s love letters.

Christine was a fifth-grade teacher at Woodsdale Elementary School until she was fired yesterday. She also tutored her lover’s younger brother.

Christine’s attorney, Frederick McDermott, argued there was no evidence his client had sex with the boy. He said she was basically the boy’s surrogate mom until she caught him stealing liquor from her home, which she shared with her husband.

Oh, yeah, Christine’s been married for five years.

Adding in another twist, the couple was the landlord to the boys and their father, a single parent.

Since her arrest, Christine has been ordered to stay away from the boy, his family, and all children under 16, to wear a GPS tracking device and to surrender her passport.

According to the Boston Globe, Christine really was like a surrogate mother to the boy until the relationship became incestuous. It allegedly progressed to snuggling and kissing after she gave the boy booze. Then on Feb. 7, 2006, she allegedly had sex with him for the first time, said Michael Scott, Plymouth assistant district attorney.

The boy, now 16, told police that over the next 21 months he and Christine had sex about every other day, for a total of “approximately 300 times,” according to the police report. She gave him a cellphone so they could whisper sweet nothings, authorities said, and wrote him a series of letters that depicted an obsessive woman in the throes of an intimate relationship.
