High school bands marching to a pervy beat

According to Tampa Bay Online, Timothy Robert Brightbill, who teaches band at Nature Coast High School, was charged Wednesday with performing oral sex and fingering a 17-year-old girl.
They might have gone all the way except the girl’s mother came home early and found Brightbill, wearing only underwear, lying atop the girl in the girl’s bedroom.
Brightbill has a court date Jan. 27.
In Cleveland, cleveland.com reports that Olmsted Falls High School band leader Edgar A. Berry has been charged with sexual battery after a student reported an incident and some inappropriate text messages. He has been placed on leave and arrested.

And lastly, in San Jose, KSBW-TV reports that former Overfelt High School (San Jose, Calif.) band teacher James Barany was sentenced to six months in prison Monday after he pleaded guilty to attempting to arrange a sexual encounter with a 13-year-old girl who was really an undercover Santa Cruz police detective.
Barany will also serve five years probation and be required to register as a sexual offender.
