Florida’s sweet 16th elects horny congressmen of all stripes

Linebreak

What is going on in lower Central Florida’s 16th congressional district? That’s the area that gave the U.S. Republican Congressman Mark Foley. He resigned shortly before the 2006 election due to a sex scandal with a congressional page.

Foley was replaced by Democrat Tim Mahoney, who lost his bid for re-election Tuesday due to a sex scandal involving an affair and an alleged payoff to a staff member.

It would be nice if Mahoney’s replacement, Republican Tom Rooney, can keep it in his pants.

As for Foley, he’ll be resurfacing on NBC’s Today Show in the next week or two, giving his first interview since his scandal.

According to Marc Ambinder, Foley wanted to wait until after the 2008 elections so as not to influence the races in any way.

And his page is now legal.
